A common misperception in the nonprofit world is that the IRS Form 990 and Form 990-PF are very similar. Notwithstanding the almost identical form numbers, these two forms are quite different. Despite the Form 990-PF having stayed relatively static for many years, erroneous reporting still occurs. Following are some of the most common Form 990-PF preparation errors:
